WinSpeed has a reputation for building fine Classic Jaguar engines.
Classic Jaguar Engine building is headed-up by our Director, Chris Window, working in conjunction with master builder Greg Lander operating from our dedicated, on-site, engine shop. Between them they have a combined sixty years` experience building Jaguar engines for both road and track.
With our huge knowledge – whether building an E-Type engine for Normal, Fast-Road, or Track use – Jaguar XK engine building is one of our primary operations. Every classic Jaguar engine is forensically stripped and inspected not only for the purpose of its rebuild, but also to establish whatever mistakes may have been made in the past during previous ownership and which might compromise its engine rebuild by WinSpeed.
WinSpeed also specialise in rebuilding the Jaguar V12 engine to the same high standards for which they are renowned.
It is a fact that, in a great many cases, engines have been subjected to historic abuse, poor maintenance and woefully poor rebuilds. There have been occasions when a “recent engine rebuild” from another source has failed to satisfy the owner’s expectations, only for us to find evidence of sub-standard workmanship.
With a Winspeed classic Jaguar engine rebuild only the best quality components – valve guides, tappets, pistons, and con rods – are used. Our machining and porting is to the highest quality. Our component selection, cleanliness, blue-print assembly and correct tuning set our engines apart from the main-stream and combine to ensure long-term satisfaction. Our Classic Jaguar engines are well-known for their strength and durability as well as their performance and torque.
Conservation of original numbered components – that might be deemed “beyond repair” – is a prime objective. We are able to correct all flaws including, if necessary, sophisticated high-tech block repair and cylinder head reclamation. All this is born of great experience and with an absolute understanding of correct engineering practice.
In conjunction with our workshops we are able to offer a full engine rebuilding service: receiving your car, removal of engine and gearbox and installation and final adjustments to ensure absolute correctness and quality of service.
